National Soda Summit to Convene Next Week
"Winning Strategies to Reduce Soda-Related Diseases" is Theme

Some of the country's most prominent nutrition experts, educators, activists, and public health officials are convening in Washington next week at the second National Soda Summit to strategize on how to reduce soda-related diseases. Panelists will discuss the science on sugar drinks and health, as well as current initiatives to reduce consumption, including taxes, warning labels, portion-size caps, and other policies. (On the first day of the summit, the Court of Appeals in New York will hear the city's appeal of a lower court's injunction against that city's proposed cap of 16 ounces at restaurants.)
